(Eonwe) “So, tell me…” Eonwe asked with a curious tone “Just why did you turn your back on Eru and the Valar?”

Does news travel so slowly where you are? I thought everyone knew that story…

Perhaps you were too busy preening the feathers on Manwë’s ass to notice the mundane workings of reality. Are you aware the Lamps fell? The Elves awoke and were moved to Aman? There were was an incident involving some trees…?

Well, if you are so ill-informed in the service of The Lord of the West, who sees all and hears all, then it explains a great deal about the state of the world.

But in any case: I have no idea why you’ve suddenly taken an interest in my motives, nor do I particularly care, but if you must know, the reason is because I was offered choice, for the first time in my life– to serve a Master I loved, of my own will, rather than because I was born to it. I was shown the hypocrisy and injustice of the Theme and the Valar’s rule, and I chose to fight for the side that nurtured alterity, and granted freedom from a greater tyranny.

…Now, I’m certain you’ve heard exactly the opposite from your sheltered nest at the top of Taniquetil. But that is the truth.

And if it brings you any consolation, Eru seems to have been the first one to turn HIs back.

replied to your post “I’ve heard that you’re 8 foot 6 and muscular, without a hint of flab,…”

How much does a hand weigh? You can subtract that.

Probably, weight-wise, more than the pride you left behind when you crawled before the feet of those who beat your master.
Still self-respect wise I would say: much less.

…I see my discussion with Eonwë has been grossly exaggerated in the retellings. I crawled not then, nor shall I ever.

Really? Maybe I mixed up my history, was crawling what you did before the Númenórean king? Or did you just bow both times?
Still I remember chains being mentioned. .
Oh, well: for one that claims never to have crawled you submitted quite a lot of times. It is also true you never were honest about it, though. Not for long, at least.
Then again you did a lot of foreswearing.
Did that have any weight?
Sure this subtracts weight from your words.
Just not to abandon our original topic..

I have bent my knee; by choice and in defeat. Each time I have risen again higher than before.

I am flexible. And I am still alive.

Alive?Are you?
Maybe somehow alive, yes. You have not ceased to exist, then again neither have I. Still I cannot help but notice you are somehow significantly less alive than many of your brethren, even those with less physical forms to spare.

I wonder: when does flexibility becomes so much you risk loosing yourself to it?
How much of you is left after changing faces so much?
How much have you left behind as you scraped yourself out of yet another deceit?
How much does it weigh?
I give more weight to my words and I lived and died on my terms. Which, to me, is more than living on someone else’s.

“ANOTHER WORD OF IGNORANCE FROM THY ROTTING TONGUE AND I WILL FIND A WAY TO DEVOUR WHAT IS LEFT OF THEE, SHADE”

….*breathes*

“Hah. Your words betray how little you know me. Has any Maia before me lived a life more on their own terms? I served the Master of my choosing. I deceived only my enemies, defied the Valar, ruled in my own right, and fell pursuing vengeance. More than you achieved, walking the same path, and under no hateful oath.

Do you really think I leave something behind when I change my face? When I do so only to achieve my own goals? You are a stubborn, brittle fool. I have always been true to myself.”

(Gift star symbol)(turcafinwe-tyelkormo) “Show those accursed ‘gifts’ to me.”

Huntsman, wolf-bane: wish you to see the world from the keen eyes of a hawk, taste the fear of your enemies on your palate, run as you’ve only dreamt of running, course game through field and air as you willed it?

Would you speak with your hound again? Would you commune with the god of the woods once more?

In an amulet such as this you’ll find the power of skin changing. Give it your trust, your blood, and nothing will escape you; no arrow outpace you, no scent or secret hide from you, no bonds hold you, nor chains enthrall you– be they of cord, of iron, or of duty. Now when the wild calls you, you may answer with your very bones, and seek freedom with your teeth.
