He turned aside therefore at Sauron’s isle, as they ran northward again, and he took thence the ghastly wolf-hame of Draugluin, and the bat-fell of ThurIngwëthil. She was the messenger of Sauron, and was wont to fly in vampire’s form to Angband; and her greatfingered wings were barbed at each joint’s end with and iron claw. Clad in these dreadful garments Huan and Lúthien ran through Taur-nu-Fuin, and all things fled before them.
Messing around with some designs for Manwë and Varda. I like the idea of their outfits having sort of Slavic influences, somehow it makes them feel more majestic.
I was tagged by@feralandfair! 😀 Arriving late for Munday Monday with starbucks…
1. Where was the last place you traveled?: Well, I travel back and forth from my hometown in Idaho and my current residence in WA state every year, but I guess the last interesting place I traveled was…… JFC I guess the roadtrip to San Francisco with the boyfriend? Or the tour of Monterey Bay with the parents? Ugh, it’s been a while…
2. Chapter of the Silmarillion that gets you the most emotional? WELL, THERE’S THE PART WHERE MELKOR’S DRAGGED TO HELL, THAT ALWAYS GETS ME; also the Akallabeth scares the shit out of me on a deep, visceral, existential level. OH GOD, AND THE FALL OF GONDOLIN? AND ALSO THE DEATH OF EÖL UUUUGHHHHSDFNDSNGSD that whole Maeglin arc gives me chills– OOH THE DUEL WITH FINGOLFIN OOOH ooh that’s a good one. I CAN’T PICK D8
3. And why? like, Idk some of the really strong emotions I get from these chapters aren’t necessarily sad or happy, they’re more like electric excited tingles? I just get all jazzed up for the drama, man. Then I get sad, but then excited again, and then sad-excited, and then I pace around the house until I stop having Emotions.
4. Which do you think is more important to civilization, science or art? That is a nutso question my friend they are both important and often the same thing.
5. Tell me your go-to order at one of your favorite restaurants: I am deep into Thai food right now because that is the best and maybe Only quality restaurant in my city right now. I like the Tom Kha :> ♥
6. If you write or make art, what’s one idea you’ve had that you haven’t started working on (yet)? (If you don’t, what’s one leisure activity you’d like to do, but haven’t?): HAHAHAHAHAA oooh god… echoing what Fluffy said; I have so many projects that I’m kind of stalling on because I don’t think my art is ready for the task and also I am constantly at war with my own lack of energy. 😦 I still chip away at those ideas, but man, it’s tough when you’re trying to single-handedly write and plan and draw something from scratch while trying to teach yourself the necessary skills to Do The Thing at the same time. (…The project is Forging Arda. It always Forging Arda.)
7. Do you have a pet? If so, what kind? (Pictures welcome 🙂 *SOBBING* NOOOOOO ;A; I AM A PETLESS APARTMENT-DWELLING WRECK. But my parents just got a new pupper named Tesla and she’s the light of my life :’3
