So in your Silmfic everybody puns right? I thought it was just Mae and Fin, but I see Fingolfin at it too. I now think making puns is part of Noldor culture – maybe they have punning contests? Who would win?
The Noldor are, famously and to their detriment, linguists so it follows that puns and wordplay are an important part of their culture.
