But when the great Gods and all their folk were armed, then Manwë climbed into his blue chariot whose three horses were the whitest that roamed in Oromë’s domain, and his hand bore a great white bow that would shoot an arrowlike a gust of wind across the widest seas.

Guys my script is really good so far i’m bummed it’s going to take me approximately 5,000 years of pre-sun reckoning to draw it
Draft for a portrait of Vana & Oromë
This was suppose to just be a quick sketch for a warm up today but I kept adding more and started to really like it. I was excited to draw these two again cause Oromë is one of my favorite of the valar to draw and I love him and Vana together (also Nahar🐴).
I’ve been trying to search for designs I did of them a year or two ago that I really liked so I was struggling to remember and put it in here. Hopefully when I do the final draft I’ll find it or come up with a better design. On Twitter: (x)

Curator Naomi Speakman of the British Museum gives us a quick guided tour of medieval jewelry, with a focus on their symbolic properties and history.

I finally finished painting Saruman! I decided a while ago that I wanted to make at least one of the wizards a woman, but I had a very hard time trying to figure out what that would look like. I couldn’t use the classic long beard or pointy hat (Saruman is not described as wearing one, as far as I could find.) So yeah, that challenge turned into a looot of thumbnailing and experimentation. I got some feedback from some friends at work along the way, so that was helpful as well. Saruman is described as wearing robes of many colours when Gandalf visits him in the book, so I kind of played up the colour here a little bit as well.
The whole image didn’t seem to fit here, but for those of you who wish to see the full thing, you can find it on Artstation (although you’re not missing much here.)

Your doorbell rings. You answer it. It’s Feanaro.
I immediately pick him up, unable to fathom there’s someone out there as short and angry as I am. We drink red wine in our finest clothes and complain bitterly about our siblings while looking like rich widows. At some point I make the mistake of defending Melkor on some trivial issue that has nothing to do with the ten billion terrible things he did (it’s likely over his Aesthetic) and we get into a massive all out tavern style brawl, one of us breaks the wine bottle and tries to stab the other. Several things catch fire. My cat children emerge to survey the damage and we go back to bonding, this time over being parents, even if he is loudly disagreeing that cats are children. We move on to whiskey and somehow rig a forge out of my microwave, crock pot and sink. The house is still burning. I ask him if he did nasty things to the silmarils. He drunkenly admits to things that shatter my entire world view and I spend the next hour staring off into space while he makes a beautiful necklace out of my silverware.
In the morning I am alone except the lingering of cigarette smoke, good whiskey and shame.

Maedhros… again
Rebloging for the night crew….
Just kidding, I have no idea what time it is.
