He laughs and takes her hands, turning her clockwise like a dancer until her back is facing him, and he holds her shoulders gently.
“You do not need me or any man to tell you that, my dear,” he says, close to her ear. “That is a truth unalterable, and you carry it with you regardless of flattery. Now–” he releases her, tapping a finger against her lips with a hint of playfulness, “put your heart back together and we will measure you for battle-wear befitting a queen and tigress.”
She let him have his way, let him turn her with the DELICATE movements of a dancer. She had relished in that closeness, almost shivering under the tender WARMTH, his finger a whisper of playfulness on the lips, a playful courtesy. Lips curled into a smirk, and she had placed a kiss atop of it, fire in her eyes burning as they locked with his ━ as she released his finger the same way he had released her.
‘ Oh, ‘ she purred, ‘ will we? And it is you, I can only ASSUME, who will do all the work himself? For if that is so, can I ask for a DANCE, too? ━ to forget the insult which hurts my heart still, will the Lord grant that? ‘
“You may ask, but I will decline– at least for the time being. Some may find it easy to dance and work together, but alas, that is not my gift,” he said, with an amused little huff.
She’d kissed his fingers, and from her lips they moved under her chin, tilting her face upwards so he might better examine it; standing straight, the top of her head came just level with his chest.
“Your ladies in waiting will take your measurements, of course,” he continued, observing her expression distantly, “it would be over-familiar of me to take them myself, don’t you agree? But the forging I will undertake gladly. Whatever I make for you will be unbreakable; no arrow will pierce it, no blade will find its weakness, and being attuned to your ring, it will change to fit your form and never hinder you… It will last as long as you do, perhaps longer.”
He blinked slowly with a smile. “You will break far more hearts with the power I give you than ever yours will be broken. Men will fold before you. That I promise.”
