@admirable-mairon requested I draw my Annatar, so here he is! I finally drew the old silver fox himself, as he appears in Blood, Song, and Silver.

Gosh, he looks so trustworthy and wise! I’m absolutely going to trust him with all my dark secrets and the greatest power known to elves and men! 

(Turns out I suck real bad at drawing plants, so for reference, he’s surrounded by branches of holly– because Eregion– and branches of a yew tree, which traditionally represents death and has deceptively similar looking berries.) 

The Elves of this land were of a race strange to us of the Silvan folk, and the trees and the grass do not now remember them: Only I hear the stones lament them: deep they delved us, fair they wrought us, high they builded us; but they are gone. They are gone. They sought the Havens long ago.
