- soo I’m absolutely in love with scorpionhoney’s interpretation of everyone! Especially their Valar designs are so creative and inventive while still drawing from the associated themes and narrative roles, it’s so amazing and fits perfectly (also look at this beautiful Melian seriously)
- also wavesheep’s really elegant designs, and especially their most gorgeous and hilarious Ulmo ❤
- sycamoreleaf has some beautiful ones but I especially love how her Varda’s hair turns everything into a starry sky it’s so lovely (and the chibi valar series is so sweet)
- I also love how chechula’s designs look almost like historical illustrations that could exist in arda, given their intricate, delicate and somewhat dreamy look. These could totally be in an illustrated/illuminated printing of the Ainulindale
- luaen’s almost angelic designs (and beautiful costume designs and hair styles)
- and I like @misbehavingmaiar’s, well, all their designs, but particularly how you can see the Aulendil/blacksmith influence in their Sauron, I think that’s so great
- sillymarillion-comics’s designs are so unique and expressive, it’s such a joy to see
- and I have to do a shout out to stupidtolkieniancomics because their art cracks me up so much. This style is such a gift to fandom (and the side bar image still kills me every single time)
- kusuri2013 has a really beautiful Irmo design
- anastasiyacemetery has a great melkor art
- unionthesalmon/@tolkienhatesme makes some rly cute designs they will never admit are quality (your Manwe looks like a crystalline summer day don’t deny it)
- mynameiseyyyyyy draws the sweetest hairstyles for them
- melkorwashere’s more elemental designs
- Ted Nasmith’s Morgoth (I think he just nailed the tone of the duel here)
- I really love crocordile’s everything but look at these cute balrog designs
I’m sure I am forgetting lots since I’m at my parents’ place and my dad makes a mean mojito, but I think you get a good idea of the Ainur artists I fangirl over
