more costume design doodles! now onto dwarwen style: main inspirations are Cirassian peoples’ clothing/assesories (mainly Georgian, Abazin & Armenian) & also i think abt female identifying dwarves most time that’s why they get all the nice things 😀

+ a random piece of hadcanon abt jewelry: being monogamous by nature, dwarves pierce their ears only once (or not at all) in their lives & one an easily pinpoint a dwarf’s marriage status by their earrings. no matter if the pair wealthy or skilled in jewelry making,  it’s the important part of the wedding ritual to make the earrings themselves, working together blah blah w/e i think it’d be cute

Tell me that they don’t deserve to be secretive. Tell me that they can’t be deeply offended when someone takes their crafts, their language, their stories and takes them upon themselves. 

Tell me that the greed of the Dwarves is unjustified. ]]

–And that despite this, they choose to share their craft and language with those they trust, making possible some of the most dramatic events in Arda’s history and noteworthy objects of power. 

And that even though their assistance is crucial, their collaboration with other races is also treated as an afterthought.

And their “greed”, as it manifests in its most destructive forms (the goldsickness and also the lust for the cursed nauglamir), is a sickness that was delivered by external, malevolent forces.

Dwarrowdam Icon Donation

It has come to my attention that we have several dwarrowdam RPers who desperately need some faceclaims/icons– because finding the perfect square-jawed, bearded, ass-kicking woman to be your icon is understandably a challenge!

SO: I will draw anyone with a dwarrowdam OC 1 (one) free icon! Just send me your details and specs in my inbox and I’ll whip up a simple portrait in color (or photoshop a beard on the faceclaim of your choosing). I encourage other draw-folk to join me in this endeavor if that is a thing you are inclined to do!
