He gently cupped her face with his hands and looked deep into her eyes. “You must tell no one — absolutely no one — about my Change into the wolf. Do you know why?”

“Because they will know you are a Fay, and they will think you are a monster.”

“And?”

“They will think I am a monster, too.”

I have never fallen so hard or so fast for a Tolkien OC in my life. If you read the above story, hopefully you’ll understand why Mélamírë grabbed my heart within a paragraph. She is, in this expertly crafted ficish universe, Sauron’s daughter.
If at this point you find yourself thinking “pssh mary sue”, or anything along those lines, you are so, so wrong, and you’re in for a wonderful surprise.

This is my very, very, VERY (very*) late contribution to Pandë’s wonderful series, the first of several illustrations to come, which I have been at a loss how to tackle for many moons. But now I am determined to get some lines on paper in a suitably disciplined fashion, and finally pay these -other- wonderful lines on paper proper tribute! …Hopefully! ….I’m not actually sure what I can do will do them justice! …TIME WILL TELL.

REVVING MYSELF UP TO READ THIS

Songs of Stone and Mountain by pandemonium_213

For Melkor: A completely different Sauron from a (sorta) parallel universe finds himself abruptly transported to an Angband very similar to his own. Wandering the halls, he notices a strange bundle of greenery suspended from an archway. Stopping to examine it and wonder at its significance, he is interrupted by a sound of approaching footsteps that are VERY like those of his Lord.

( I’m borrowing lucifers-cuvette’s Pandëverse Sauron for this meme… I’ll bring him right back, I promise!)

I’m no lovecraftian horror, but I’ll wax gibbous for you if you stick around. *wink wonk*
