Marja Kettner is a female photographer and doing a lot of fantasy stuff. She’s done a lot of art works “similar as Anne Rice vampires.” The photos had been a lot around in newspapers. Since the Lord of the Rings movie, she’s done a lot of pics of Elf men. go to her page to see more of her artwork

This is part of this “panthera” series

@elsilmarillionnoesparacualquiera  thanks for the name of the photographer ❤

If I had not met Melkor… If he had taken no notice of me, and we had never spoken….

I suppose I would have continued on as I was in the beginning: Admirable-One of Aulë, first of smiths. I would be with him still, perhaps in Valinor, questioning not my duties, working in the Great Forge to complete my father’s designs.

Perhaps I’d invent things of my own. Perhaps not. Certainly, I would have to do so on my own time, never taking precedence over the work of the group.

Would I have seen Melkor in chains paraded through the city of bells, and thought it right and just? Would I have met Fëanor? Mahtan, Nerdanel, the great smiths of the Calaquendi? Would I have seen the Two Trees, bathed in their light, mourned for their destruction?

I’d be no different from a thousand other Maiar, whose stories are not told, whose love has moved no mountains nor made ripples through history.

Perhaps I’d have been happier, though poorer for it.

Orcs were wicked and cruel creatures brought about by the first Dark Lord of Middle Earth, Morgoth. They were the product of Morgoth taking droves of elves captive and submitting them to dark torture and mutilation, leaving them a ruined and terrible form of life. As the ages passed, orcs split and diversified according to their specific origins. Goblin, orc, uruk, and Uruk-hai all fell under the malformed classification of ‘orc’.

They were miserable beings, hating everyone including their fellow orcs. They made no beautiful things, but rather designed cunning devices made to hurt and destroy. Orcs delighted in the technology of war and some fancied themselves harbingers of progress itself.

After Sauron’s defeat at the end of the Third Age, what orcs remained scattered and fled in dismayed horror. They were never a threat to the world again and likely went extinct in the age of peace that followed.

Delegation.

Based on the conclusion that since Erebor and the Greenwood have been on good(-ish) terms pre-Dragonsickness/Fall of Erebor there must have been diplomatic relations and delegations between those two, so here’s Frís, mother of Thorin and wife of Thrain, Princess Under the Mountain.(I’m just going with @determamfidd‘s naming here (⌐■‿■) Though seriously she carries herself like a true queen, something we can see at the very least in her eldest son…)

I guess we now know where Thorin got his flair for dramatic entrances 😀
