The dagger features a countercurved damascus blade with a reinforced tip of rhomboidal section. The first part is flat and gold-inlaid with a nobiliary coat of arms and floral motifs, while the moulded neck and iron band are decorated en suite. The daggers has an ivory grip and yatagan-style pommel.
Sadie– Steven Universe: Has a collection of both bad horror movies and thwarted ambitions, an inferiority complex, and a closet full of bottled up negativity. Both awkward and comfy, dislikes conflict but will absolutely headbutt a bison if provoked. Supportive but vulnerable and full of insecurities. …Also probably the closest to my body type I will ever see on television.
Jadzia Dax– Deep Space 9: Flirty eyebrows, genderfluid, pansexual, adventurous, curious, likes The Beef, has a raunchy joke available for every occasion, a saucy libertine with a heart of gold. Me at my most outgoing/socially adjusted.
Quasimodo– Disney’s HoND: Simultaneously wants company and to be left alone in a high tower to observe people from a safe distance. Clumsy and helpless in some scenarios, deft and capable in others. Finds spiritual comfort in natural and artistic beauty. Slightly maladjusted, sometimes hurts people accidentally. Keeps company with imaginary friends and animals.
Loki– any and all universes: (Art by Dylan Meconis) Can’t win at your game so will beat you at a different one; manipulative, remembers everything and everyone that has ever hurt him, will revel in their downfall. A bundle of ego and self-pity mixed with self-aware loathing. A feeling of otherness and alterity, intent-to-kill ruthlessness, playfulness, fluidity, monstrosity. Draws on illusions and multliple disguises. Drawn to carnality but also knowledge and glory. Always teetering on the edge of making disastrously poor decisions. Gives birth to abominations. Fucks up everything. Also likes The Beef but possibly in an uncomfortably literal fashion
Lava flows like these Hawaii’an ones are endlessly mesmerizing. This type of flow is gravity-driven; rather than being pushed by explosive pressure, the lava flows under its own weight and that of the lava upstream. In fact, fluid dynamicists refer to this kind of flow as a gravity current, a term also applied to avalanches, turbidity currents, and cold drafts that sneak under your door in the wintertime. How quickly these viscous flows spread depends on factors like the density and viscosity of the lava and on the volume of lava being released at the vent. As the lava cools, its viscosity increases rapidly, and an outer crust can solidify while molten lava continues to flow beneath. One darling tongue-tied minstrel, wondering what all the fuss is about.
One fancy freckly siren boy, as per your order! :3 ❤
…He has the posture of a man who has permanent shoulder cramps and the determination of a workaholic who has not relaxed in 4000 years . Let us hope that tea is decaffeinated.
I like to think the souls of the past lived on in the stray cats inhabiting the remains.
Fun fact: stray cats in Rome are not considered “strays” but “free cats” and they have legal citizenship of the city. They mostly live in the Roman ruins in the city and have legal rights and protection and are taken care of by thousands of specialized volunteers who make sure they’re healthy and fed. A lot of them also get sterilized and there are initiatives to get them adopted.
I guess cats everywhere have a kinship with ancient ruins 🙂
this does indeed make me feel so much better
I went to the Palace of Malia in Crete in December 2013. We were the only visitors in the whole archeologic site and the only other living beings around were the ticket lady and a super-affectionate cat.
She followed us around for the whole visit, well actually, she was walking in front of us as if she was guiding the tour and at the end of the visit she stopped by the offering table left in situ and took a drink.
Convince me she was not some sort of genius loci, if you can.
