Ringwraith (Nazgûl) Sword
- Measurements: overall length 55 inches
This prop Ringwraith sword was created by the Weta Workshop armoury during the production of “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy (New Line Cinema, 2001, 2002, 2003).
The sword has a lightweight aluminum blade specifically for stunt use and riding sequences and shows visible signs of wear from on-set combat. The urethane hilt was cast from molds taken from the original hero prop, and the sword was carefully hand-painted and extensively weathered.
This prop was part of a collection of authentic production-created movie props procured by official New Line Cinema licensee, United Cutlery directly from Weta Workshop and Three Foot Six Productions between 1999-2004 for reference in producing a collectible replica version for fans of the film franchise.

Manwë and Melkor in the first panel are perfect, Varda and Manwë in the second are adorable, and Aulë in the thirs is amazing.Also I adore how in the first the brother look so much alike but, at the same time, are different.

So I went through a ton of caps to find clear enough images to suss out exactly what Dwalin’s trademark badass knucketats actually say. There are a few characters missing, either they’re scarred over or there never was a good look at them in the film, but I think the conclusions I’ve reached are extremely logical. It’s like playing hangman in Khuzdul.
Anyway, absolutely nobody should be surprised with what it turned out to be—one of the only dwarvish lines in Tolkien’s works, a battle cry uttered by Gimli at the Battle of Hornuburg. Surprising nobody, WETA is composed of extremely thorough nerds. Not only are these phrases characteristic of the Dwarves as a people, they’re also extremely well suited to be etched into Dwalin’s skin, given his life experiences.
So yeah. The more you know.
