Illustration of Celegorm and Huan, from the Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien.
I just started working on this piece, when an Anon here on Tumblr, asked if I could do a tutorial on how I create my ‘crispy’ illustrations. So, I’ve decided to record the process, and create a timelapse video of it, that hopefully will give some insight into the process behind these paintings.
I have also created a more detailed step by step tutorial here, listing the brushes I use, the options selected, etc.: https://mathiaarkoniel.wordpress.com/2017/12/12/celegorm-and-huan-tutorial-making-of/
If anyone has any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. 🙂

Curufin and Celebrimbor lived in Himlad, east of his brother Maedhros’ fortress Himring and south of Aglon, a Pass between Himring and Dorthonion, leading into Doriath.
